I don't know. The App St. grass hill was packed with fans and kids, it appeared, for the UNC game. Looked really good on TV and a fun atmosphere.
I get the idea that a party deck COULD mean good, fun, rowdy entertainment; however, if you notice how it's tough at times to get fans at Cajuns Field just to stand when the defense is on 3rd down, I'm afraid having a "party deck" will just turn into a laid back, sipping some drinks atmosphere. I think we want people standing into a fence on that grass hill yelling at opposing offenses.
It would be nice to finally have a renovation that had more thought into the design than just “red brick tin roof”. The south end zone looks like a flea market or tractor storage.
I want overhangs like this
Overhang would be nice. How do you insure that in a hurricane though?
If I was AD
1.Create a organized tailgate area, like a champions square.
2. Create a press box area with restaurants and drinking establishments with tables, chairs and TV’s so they can enjoy other football games. Also if it is raining they can hang out before the game in the press box area.
3. Create a party plaza in the NEZ so kids and parents can just hang out during the game with fun jumps and the like.
4. Put an over hang around the entire stadium so people don’t have to get wet People should be able to walk out of the press box area to the visitor side seats without getting wet. Also over the seating area as well.
We gotta cater to the fair weather fans
this is what i know
the State is kicking in 10 million plus
the standing areas for fans to visit and enjoy beer are being reduced or eliminated all together to save money which is a huge mistake
club suites will replace UD
Prices are for tickets and psl (rcaf obligation) are going to double
work will start in december of this year
All I can say is that my season tickets at Russo are in the Grand Stand right on the border of the cover and that cover is great. It would be an excellent idea in all respects to cover as much of the seating at Cajun Field as they can.
