You are assuming in a 2-1 or 3-1 we'd get paid for one or two games and you'd be correct, most times.

But you aren't going to get the kind of payday that you'd get just playing on the road.

Hypothetical. Cajuns normally get 1.5 for a P5 road game. They agree to 3-1. One of the games is part of the home and home so you don't get paid. The other two, you're offered 850K, not 1.5

That's the way it normally works.

Not a sustainable model,, to be sure.
If you go from 20K to 40K with a big name school playing at Cajun Field you make up the difference in tickets and concessions sold. Simple math.

With the Big-10 getting a windfall $Billion a year upcoming, (and I'm sure the SEC even more) the amount of dispersable disposables will be going through the roof.

I don't think the crowds show up in real numbers until Louisiana has a solid decade of high caliber scheduling under their belt.

I could be wrong, but it is certainly no reason to schedule weak.

Get a mid tier SEC school to play at Cajun Field and see what the attendance will look like.

So you not automatically doubling attendance in year one?

    OK,, I'll bite.

Who is coming here that is going to draw 40,000? My guess is whatever you come up with wouldn't be willing to do it.

We've drawn big vs. a P5 school twice. But A&M and Bama aren't comin'.

But they do it for other Sun Belt schools. A few years ago MIAMI HURRICANES was going to be playing at Arkansas State.

    Catch your head.

A three-for-one would take almost a dozen years to unfurl.

Which incidentally, is why, by year four or so I would have a half dozen relationships running concurrently.

We can’t do one and you will have 6? Fire Dr M and make Turbine AD and JMV Associate AD.

Bottom line, the home schedule at Cajun Field is not a good one. I went to all the P5 games at Cajun field. The Cajuns were never competitive in our history as we have been the past couple of years. With a good Cajuns team, having a chance to beat a P5 would certainly draw better than years past, when everyone knew we weren't going to win. It's different. If we can maintain success, and bring better teams to CF, I'm certain the crowd would improve.

    Can't is cantagious.
