Spent some time in Detroit in the early 90's. Holy hell what a nightmare that place was!

70% of Canadians live south of the US border

I get the ULM shutdown, but the "no one else was doing it" mantra holds no water. Ninety percent of ultra successful self made unicorn companies in America are where they are, because they identified (and filled) a niche that up till them no one else was filling.

Two less home games against lesser competition, replaced with higher quality opponents one road, one home will (in the long haul) have hockey stick attendance numbers. (5 home games)

Naw, not talking shizz just stating how I'm seeing things. 2026 is far away and lots of things could happen between now and then but we are two different schools going in different trajectory. They are having to play 7 away games just to balance their low budget. 7 away games is killer on a program and that program is teetering on collapse.

A program that is a little better than Monroe but Monroe is in a stable conference and can ride the SBC coatails until they decide to give up. Who can tech leech onto, Liberty? Liberty is not Boise. They won't be able to save tech from techs worst enemy, themselves.

The 90's was a rough time for Rock City. I blame Eminem and Kid Rock for that Lol. No seriously it's a lot better now. The casinos brought in money to clean up downtown and the big 3 started reinvesting in factories

It started with Bob Seger. Jokes aside, I had a hitch in Flint back in 2008 and I’ve never been in such a ____ hole…and I’ve been in some of the roughest communities in the US.

I agree, Louisiana is not ULM.

A contracted five-game home schedule that includes an FCS team would be completely counter productive.

Well, ULM always wanted to be like Tech, and now they are. Both have 5 home games.

CajunT explained a while back why Maggard doesn't want to do 2 for 1 and 3 for 1 deals. Until he does then we will continue to get 20K crowds.

If not a 2 for 1 or 3 for 1, could we pay a p5 to come here 1 game?? Like 2 million get it done for a mid tear team. Baylor, MSU, ole miss, TCU, Tex tech…

That particular season instead of a away g5 as part of a home and home just go to a g5 for a paycheck to help offset paying a p5 to come here. So 1fcs at home g5 road and p5 home p5 road.

No, the value is just not there. Maggard knows what he is doing.

It’s time to get happy going to Cagin Field to see the home team. Good things will come from that.

How or why would UL pay 2 million for a mid-level P5 to come to Lafayette when the Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas, Texas A&M or Arkansas never paid UL that price to go to their place. And they can afford it much more than UL can.

Because this is typical RP stupid.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to get some P5’s to come to Cajun Field, but other than Texas A&M (#2) and Alabama (#4), no other P5 teams that have come to Lafayette (ie. Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Minnesota) are listed anywhere in the largest crowds in Cajun Field history! Until fans decide to come support the Cajuns and not worry about who the opponent is, this athletic department must remain fiscally responsible. Paying big bucks for a P5 to come here when we fans have proven (by lack of attendance) that playing Southern is more attractive just does not make sense. Doing so would be acting like the government and be spending money we don’t have!
