I did not know this when MelRock and I spoke last night on our podcast, but this is absolutely huge. No details have been released outside of what has been said by Marshall Coach Charlie Huff.

I will continue to monitor and let you guys know what I hear. Changes allot in the SBC East, when you lose arguably the best RB in the conference.

Lot's of rumors here. Just some digging and hearing everything from injury, personal family issues, mental health, to potential transfer for huge NIL deal. Obviously every one of these rumors are unsubstantiated, but we won't know until we hear from someone inside the program and not just forum posters and twitter trolls. But as BB has said this is not good news for Marshall and/or the SBC. Ali was expected to be one of the top performers in the SBC this year.

They have the luxury of a pretty good backup at Marshall. Khalan Laborn who was a PS #7 recruit who originally signed and played at Florida State, but has not played football since 2019 will come in and be the lead back. He rushed for 297 yards in 2019 for FSU. They lose their #2, 3 and 4 rushers from last year. The leading returning RB from 2021 is Ethan Payne who only rushed for 90 yards 20 carries last year. So depth is a huge concern for Marshall at RB.
