Anything has got to be better than what we currently have. Golf has underperformed for years and we keep giving contract extensions.

They probably wouldn’t take the pay cuts. Theo could quit tomorrow and become a club pro and give himself a huge raise, but he loves this place.

    Bingo.

Same situation with Track & Field.

Nicest guy on the planet from what I hear.

Him quitting seems like the only way he will leave.

Might as well give him a lifetime contract and be done with the paperwork.

Bob Marlin coaches a sport where you need butts in the stands and need consistent support from season ticket holders and basketball donors.

The golf coach is in a completely different situation.

……Here is the situation that programs get into….say it is a perennial loser, and you are recruiting….yea you say every good thing about the program and what it is GOING TO BE…..the problem is that the opposition comes to the house and nothing good is said about your program and all the opposition keeps saying the negatives…….when the recruit keeps hearing the same negatives it reinforces his judgement, ergo DONT GO THERE! This is where “intelligent ignorance” helps….keep selling and have the image of difference given to the recruit…..warning they can think you are crazy!

Thank you. HAHA!! That family use to be Big LSU fans too. Dad probably still has allegiance but that family shows up to all the UL games.

Theo is a very nice dude. But ask his former players what they think. Ask his current players as soon as they become former players. This isn’t hearsay either
