Golf: Guess it's all about perspective. If you hold the standings upside down......we were solidly in 1st place.

If golf got an extension, The Big Fish should be in consideration for one . . . Men’s basketball is 3 and 0

You’re not going to fire your golf coach and do a nationwide search for the job.

Are players graduating? Is the program clean and out of media scrutiny? If those answers are YES, you’re going to keep the golf coach.

I don't think you need a nation wide search.

Just give the job to the most recent grad. That's what they did with Theo when he was hired.

I got to admit when I read this headline, I angrily assumed Marlin found his way into another year or two.....

How about former players who won on the PGA tour:

Craig Perks - The Players Championship winner
Mike Heinen - Shell Houston Open winner

Anything has got to be better than what we currently have. Golf has underperformed for years and we keep giving contract extensions.

What does Theo make? Possibly the real issue is the amount of $$$ budgeted or allocated to pay for a golf coach. I highly suspect that neither Perks nor Heinen or anyone with such success would be willing to work for that salary.

They probably wouldn’t take the pay cuts. Theo could quit tomorrow and become a club pro and give himself a huge raise, but he loves this place.

Nicest guy on the planet from what I hear.

Him quitting seems like the only way he will leave.

Might as well give him a lifetime contract and be done with the paperwork.
