Thread: Louisiana working to mold the three-headed monster of the offense

  1. UL Football Louisiana working to mold the three-headed monster of the offense

In recent years, Louisiana has been known for pounding the pavement as the Cajuns backfield has constantly produced "three headed monsters".

"We've been really fortunate here at running back to really a stable of guys that could go out there and physically do it", says head coach Michael Desormeaux.

Of all the positions, this is my greatest concern.

Only 8 running backs on the roster, and one of those is out for the year.

Kibodi moved back and got a year's eligibilty back.

Kid from Westgate dropped off the team. Again.

We are flat-out thin at the position.

Not thin, just inexperienced. We have a number of guys who've been here a while and are physically ready to play. Outside of Smith, they have very little game experience and I'm not sure exactly how good they are. Having said that, OL is still our biggest issue.

That's not what I witnessed at practice. Kobodi, Smith, Washington, Terrance Williams and Orphey give us 5 backs to rotate in the offense. There is only 1 football, this position is good. If someone is injured Perry and Ward will be depth at this point.

This group is not thin, I think 7 quality backs is deep, the question is how good are these guys when the lights come on. Smith and Terrance Williams are the only ones with Cajun experience and Kidobi has played just not here.

What exactly is the story with Tyreese Jackson (transfer from Colorado State via Westgate HS.). He was supposed to have transferred in but you are correct he is not on the roster.
