Thread: Hotels for Rice game

    Default Hotels for Rice game

I have never been to the area around Rice University. We are planning to go for Friday and Saturday nights. What are some good hotel selections in that area?
Where is everyone planning to stay at?

The medical district is probably the best area to stay. You can see into the stadium at most hotels. Rice village and the zoo is right around the corner

The Intercontinental is in walking distance. I have a room booked for that weekend but may have to back out.

It is a couple blocks from the Westin a little further from the stadium. The restaurant and bar not as good. My mother in law stayed their from Thanksgiving to after News Years this past holiday season as my FIL under went a major heart procedure. I spent Christmas there last year. I would recommend the Westin over it. Although it is not bad nothing wrong with it if you are not going to use the bar facilities anyway.

Anything in the Med Center or north/west of the Med Center should be good. Careful going south or east...it gets a little shady.

.6 mile walk to the stadium. You can't park that close in many stadiums.

That's an excuse for a lot of Cajun fans to not go to home games. You expect me to walk HOW far?
