In this thread alone, we have gone from the Cajuns practice schedule to the lack of local coverage to social media outlets to hemorrhoids.

I guess my two month decompression period from Cajuns Athletics is officially over. It’s good to be back.

I don't see where anything I said would be construed as blaming the fans, but you do you.

But the fact you rip on the signal strength of KPEL and ignore the fact you can listen to it anywhere in the world on the app tells me you're whining for the sake of whining.

Unless you only have a flip phone.

The minions who responded to you are correct. It's relatively easy to find info on the Cajuns. But again, you say you're not going to search the internet.

My guess is there isn't anyone who is going to gather the info and send it to you in a private email.

Through the use of social media, Louisiana athletics is reaching far more people than just the website ever did. It's critical to the success. Sorry if you don't like that or don't understand it.

Oh, and for those who lament there was no story on the first day of practice, you're a little late to the party.

The last time there was a story written by media relations on the first day of practice was 2019.

Yeah, welcome to the year 2022. We're not talking bout last week here. I don't blame you for KPEL's disastrous handling of the Cajuns for like the first 20 years I was in Lafayette. You did your job & it was fantastic. But don't tell me I didn't literally have to turn around in a cow pasture in Cow Island & go back down the road two miles & find a gravel driveway to park in just so I could hear your end call of the Cajuns baseball series against South Carolina that one spring day in 2000. And that wasn't the only time I had to put my life as well as others on the road in jeopardy just to get within listening range of a Cajuns event either coming from, or going to work in my day old timer.

It is clear that the old way (radio/newspapers, etc) of getting UL athletic information is going to disappear over the coarse of time. Some of us that were used to this method in the past need to figure it out. If you want to keep up with any of your favorite sports teams in the future it is going to be through other avenues like FB, Instagram, Twitter or whatever new social media site exists in the future. IF you are not going to adapt with the times, you and about 10 people will be reading the local newspaper in your town and about 12 people and yourself will listen to local terrestrial radio as time goes on. Complaining that you can not find information is because you refuse to try to find it. Old time radio and print media are going to disappear over time and if you are not listening to podcasts, following social media or doing your own research then sorry for you but you will miss out on some good information.

I am going to be 53 years old and had to learn to adapt. If I were just listening to local radio and reading local papers I would not be able to breakdown the Cajun opponents like I do. I have to search other sites and find the information and their are tons of cool sites to do this on.

I have a problem with the internet per say. What I have a problem with is having to fumble through three browsers & 6 different HTTPs whatever that crap is to find one ten minute podcast, or two sentence story on something. I can go on you tube & find all the LSU crap that anyone could vomit over in ten seconds. Same with Florida, the Saints,etc. Life is complicated enough for people. the reason they can follow the Jordy Culottas, Matt Masconas & T-Bob heberts of the world is because they are two clicks away. Every Cajun media outlet ought to strive have their story on you tube &/or have their links posted here. That's not a huge ask, especially for guys who would like to monetize their product.

The problem UL people has is the one they've always had. Instead of working together to make the parts bigger by unifying to make the whole greater. They continually fight & compete against each other like kids fighting over one ice cream cone. That was the way the Athletic Department was run for years.

MAT, I would agree with this with the exception and I know you guys do about a 1-1/2 hour podcast and We're Talkin' is traditionally 45 minutes to an hour. I realize that neither of these have really got going this offseason, but very shortly I would assume both will be kicking off and will have plenty of good information for Kyle, neither are 10 minutes long.

I was more agreeing with the last paragraph. People rarely try to help each other around here. Especially legacy media. Instead of embracing ways to broaden the brand, everything is seen as a threat.

It is not completely up to date right now because most teams have not updated anything with new injury reports since they just reported, but in the next few weeks you will see tons of information on every team.

I'm being dead serious. And it's not that I'm necessarily lazy, although I wouldn't argue against that point. The bottom line is if you don't know, you don't know. And there are a LOT of folks who simply don't know.

Thank you much appreciated. I put tons of time and effort into those breakdowns and they are really fun for me to do. It was always just a hobby for me to do these breakdowns weekly to learn about our opponents, but then I started posting them on Ragin Pagin and getting great feedback, but once we started doing the podcast with MelRock, I really started to see how much interest and appreciation their was for my time and effort and I could not stop. To be honest with you, doing the podcast has helped me become even more thorough on these breakdowns because now I have to expand on them verbally, whereas before it was just typing. MelRock has really made me concentrate and focus on allot of the information and make sure that I have all of my I's dotted and T's crossed because we do not rehearse our podcast or go over what we are going to talk about (clearly that is obvious if you listen to us), but he hits me with follow up questions that I need to be ready to answer on the spot. This has made it even more fun than just typing them for you guys to enjoy.

If you have not listened in the past, I highly recommend you hit us up this season. I am hoping to have more insight and information about our opponents this year than last.

You are very welcome Kyle. As I said before, I have been doing these breakdowns on our opponents for a few years now and I learn new websites and new research sites every day. I spend time on our opponents message boards, listening to their podcasts (if available) and listening to coach and players interviews leading up to our games as well as watching game film weekly. What you see above is only a small sample of the sites I visit to do my breakdowns, but these are many of the more popular ones I visit.
