Are there some gatherings or such already planned for that weekend, whether via alumni association or RCAF?

I thought maybe someone mentioned a couple events for that weekend, but can’t remember which thread or where.

I'm driving in that morning to meet family and a few friends. But I have no plans to hang out with either organization at this point.

Calling all Casual Cajun Fans,

The Rice University Casual Fan Club may be holding a get together before the game. Have not decided where or when, as we are casual fans of Rice and not sure if we will get together or not, kind low on the priority list...if we do meet, we will have TV Games available for you to follow LSU, or in our case, UTexas...but it will be last minute...

I heard the Alumni Association is putting something together for the Friday night, but haven't heard any details. Not sure about game day.

But if the RPCA is having a meeting, I'm in.

a birdie told me (is that how i do it) that the friday night event will be low key, maybe a drink ticket for first drink for members of either organization with appetizers spread out, but most of their energy is going to go into the gameday tailgate.

…..Luke Mandola’s Ragin Cajun Restaurant is always a gathering place……I’ll check to see if he has a deal planned……the recruiting coaches always stop in the area for a meal and info!

On Friday plans are to have a gathering at Lil Woodrow's at the Rice Village location and have a tailgate tent at Rice Stadium on Saturday. The Alumni Association and the RCAF should be sending out information sometime this month with the details.

Thanks! I also hope some bus trips are planned. There are several relatively close road games this year.
