Thread: MBB: Louisiana Inks Kyran Ratliff To Grant-In-Aid

  1. UL Basketball MBB: Louisiana Inks Kyran Ratliff To Grant-In-Aid

Louisiana Men's Basketball Coach Bob Marlin received a late addition to his 2022-23 roster when New Orleans native Kyran Ratliff signed a Grant-In-Aid to play for the Ragin' Cajuns, announced on Friday.

Ratliff, a three-star prospect and the No. 3-rated player in the state of Louisiana by 247Sports, was a three-time Class 3A All-State selection at Booker T. Washington where he averaged 17.6 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.3 blocks as a junior. In order to bolster his opportunities to plat at the Division I level, the 6-foot-8 Ratliff transferred to Shaun Dumas Academy for his senior season, averaging 15 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks per game.

    Dude had some nice offers.

    Arkansas, Houston, Tulane, USC, Georgetown.

.and this from a Arkansas website:

“Kyran is a great kid,” said Cleavon Williams, co-program director of LivOn-Fleur De Lis. “Great student from a great family. His upside is above the roof. He’s 6-7, 6-8 with 7-foot wingspan. Will probably be a stretch-4 when it’s all said and done. I just love to see the progress that he’s making. He works real hard. He’s been on the EYBL circuit for two years now.

“He can actually handle the ball, get a rebound and start the break. Soft touch, he can shoot the three-ball and mid-range. In high school because of his height, he’s not able to showcase his perimeter skill as much. He needs to get in the weight room and get bigger, stronger.”

Was it Paschal on Graylin or Fletcher on Todd when coach said (paraphrasing) "we put him on a high-calorie weight program and he lost 10 pounds."

Seeing Richards is on the 22/23 roster.

Looks like a great sign, definitely an area of need. Not complaining, but seems we are lucky to get him. Looking forward to seeing him in a Cajun uniform.

Hill had amazing hang time, especially when he caught a good up draft.
