    Last time I checked W’s count whether it’s 1 or 50 points.

During my time of really paying attention to Cajuns football, I can remember two periods in which we "opened the playbook" for a passing game.

Jerry Baldwin years...and that didn't turn out so well.
Hud's first two seasons, with Blaine Gauthier, and a healthy Terrance Broadway.

I don't know how "open" we were in the Baldwin years since we had Van Cleave running the triple option for gods sake. Maybe we were just down all the time. IDK. I just can't imagine we will all of a sudden just start airing the ball out with a first year starter, young OL and a coach who's played and/or coached here for all those years we were a run first team.

You have to win the West to play for a title. I equate this to softball a few years ago. So many of you had a "no big deal" attitude when we won a conference championship because we were going to super regionals.

Every time you can say you're a champion, it's a good thing. Nothing says you have to be satisfied with winning the west.

But it should never be demeaned, either.
I completely agree, it should be celebrated. Ask many who came across me after the CCG, I sure as hell celebrated. I celebrated winning the west. But I don’t want winning the west to be a dynasty. I want winning the league to be it.

We’ve beat ULM four times in a row. Don’t think many will say we are a dynasty in the ULM series.

It’s an opinion. Don’t think it’s an unreasonable opinion. Just like I don’t think y’all’s is either.

    It’s time for September 3.

We were not 50/50 last year

40 rush attempts per game compared to 28 pass attempts. I guarantee those numbers will look different this year.

I hope they look just like that, or even more unbalanced to the run because we're running out the clock after increasing 3rd quarter leads.

Coach Desormeaux won't change the offense drastically, he believes and played in a physical running game. You still need to run the football well to control the clock when you have a lead in the 4th quarter. I think what will change is they will push the ball down field more when the defense gives them the looks they want. But I'm not expecting drastic changes in the offense outside of formations and looks.

The answer is no until someone knocks us out. We will win the west and also the conference.

I didn't say we were 50/50. I said we were nearly that. Granted, we ran 59% of the time so OK there is room for argument but again, what exactly are you saying? Are you saying that percentage will be different albeit slightly or are you saying that we will be 50/50 run or even more pass than run?

I'm saying we wont have 540 rush attempts next year probably closer to 400 like 2011-2012

Interesting comparisons for offense, when looking at efficiency or "explosiveness".

    2011
    3.6 Yards per Rushing Attempt
    8.02 Yards per Passing Attempt
10 INTs thrown in 13 games
    5.7 Yards per Play
    28:10 Average TOP per game
    38.69% 3rd Down Conversions
28 Times Sacked in 13 games
13 Fumbles Lost in 13 games

    2012
    5.2 Yards per Rushing Attempt
8.65 Yards per Passing Attempt (healthy Terrance Broadway after Gauthier's injury)
9 INTs thrown in 13 games
6.8 Yards per Play (that was an explosive offense)
    29:02 Average TOP per game
    39.02% 3rd Down Conversions
27 Times Sacked in 13 games
13 Fumbles Lost in 13 games

    2020
    5.5 Yards per Rushing Attempt
    7.40 Yards per Passing Attempt
7 INTs thrown in 11 games
    6.3 Yards per Play
    28:28 Average TOP per game
    42.75% 3rd Down Conversions
19 Times Sacked in 11 games
6 Fumbles Lost in 11 games

    2021
    4.8 Yards per Rushing Attempt
    7.56 Yards per Passing Attempt
4 INTs thrown in 14 games
    6.0 Yards per Play
30:43 Average TOP per game (ball control with very few INTs)
    36.70% 3rd Down Conversions
39 Times Sacked in 14 games
4 Fumbles Lost in 14 games (Only EIGHT turnovers all season)

Your wrong Vic, according to the RPCA both would be unacceptable...1 is not enough for them, 50? "Mais, we should have put 65 on dem, Dez can't coach"....
