Too funny! It sure backfired on us, and him.

"earned a scholarship" sounds more like he's on the team...no?

That is what I thought too. I was very confused by the post on Twitter.

Not necessarily Rick. It might be accurate in this case, but I've seen a number of kids say the same thing after receiving an offer on paper. I hope he has because he would have 3 years of eligibility left.

Rick does as well, played QB at USL in the 70s.

He was a walk on with the Necksters. I cant find any stats. Must have red shirted.

He did redshirt, I am sure of that. It does show him as a walk on, but if you look at his list of offers out of HS, I am shocked he was not on scholarship. He had offers from Arkansas, Kansas, Ole Miss, Memphis, Texas State, Tulane, UCF, UVA and Texas A&M. Very few 3 stars with offers from schools like the above don't get full rides to somewhere.

He didn't qualify, so he tried to walk-on. He left for Hutchison JC. Several schools wanted to place him in JC, but he wanted to enroll at Tech.
