Their home game vs. North Carolina is sold out...six weeks before the game. They might bring in temporary seating.

Nice to see their state flagship threw them a bone.
If only here...
That might be an interesting game to watch.
App has the best fans in the Belt. It’s not that close either
Best football fans probably, but I would not say best fans overall. They do not support other sports like they do football, basketball (I've been to many of their games) is not supported at all, baseball is weak (beautiful venue but not many fans attend). I would say at the top of the conference for football is:
App
Marshall
Georgia Southern
I think the next group would be UL, JMU and USM and possibly Coastal.
I think clearly near the bottom would be ULM and Georgia State.
I am not disagreeing with anything you are saying. App has hosted 3 sunbelt conference title games. Louisiana has hosted 1. Louisiana holds the record for the largest crowd in sunbelt championship games history. Where were all those great fans? And unfortunately most of us felt our crowd was disappointing.
You beat me to it. Actually both games the weather was an issue. It was in the upper 30's low 40's for the 2019 game and the 2018 game it was same temperature but raining and miserable. When it is between 38-42 in Boone, it feels much worse, mostly because of the wind on top of the mountain. I was at both games, neither was comfortable for Cajun fans, I can assure you of that.
You said it right there. Student support. The big difference is Boone is the kinda place that isn’t close to home so you go to college and live there. Many probably don’t go home until thanksgiving break. UL is the kinda place kids don’t go to college they go to school. They live with mommy and daddy in places like New Iberia, abbeville, crowley, Breaux bridge, carencro, Opelousas, Rayne and parts in between. They drive to Lafayette Mon -Fri, park at Cajun field and get on the bus. When the weekend comes they not coming back to Lafayette. As a matter of fact the only time the ever see Cajun field as students is to park and catch the bus. Until the university learns how to connect and get that type of student involved and turn them into life long supporters we will continue to struggle. If we could just add the student support that App gets our crowds would improve drastically. Once you get the students you would probably also get more of their parents also.
