NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Police in New Orleans are investigating the
early morning shooting deaths of three women.
A 79-year-old man, who was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to
the face, has been identified as a suspect. Police said his wound
may have been self-inflicted.
Around 3 a.m. Wednesday, police responding to reports of a
shooting found a dead woman outside a house in the Treme (Treh
MAY') neighborhood.
Officers heard gunshots as they tried to enter the house. SWAT
team members were summoned and eventually entered the home around
7:30 a.m. They found two more dead women and the wounded man
inside. Police said the women inside the house were daughters of
the first woman found. One of the daughters was believed to be the
girlfriend of the man.
