The only thing that would make me want to drop this game in favor of a P5 would be skyrocketing game contracts.
The idea was originally pushed by politics in Baton Rouge. But it had worked out well during fiscal lean years with in the state and keeping the money in the UL System appeals to many in state. Also playing both HBCU institutions on rotation makes sense economically.

Like I said, If it's not a home game against a conference member, a local FCS, a local rival, or a PG/TopG5, we are better off as a program by going after another P5 road scalp than scheduling some generic G5 school nobody cares about for a Home and Home.
The fan base just needs time, everyone wants things to happen fast but things are too complicated for that. comparing App st, USM, whoever else with decades of tradition is flawed. We have never had sustained success. We are creating the good old days right now. We are at the point of growing new generations of fans and they are all younger right now, but they are seeing winning and cULture and momentum. Sad to say many current die-hards wont see the potential realized the way its in their minds.

To the point about scheduling two P5's per year, I kinda like the idea, but It most likely comes at the cost of our 6th home game at very least every other year, if not more frequent than that. ask yourself are the fans that show up to games willing to keep season tickets in the years there are only 5 home games?

In the end, it helpful to push for better and grow more while both enjoying and celebrating the process. I feel many times our die-hards forget the celebrating part while they are pushing for better.

Never ever gonna happen. LSU doesn't need UL. UL needs LSU. It's all about collecting a check. Once every 10-12 years maybe but even that may be a stretch.

5 home games and host a conference championship.

With all the midweek games, the six home games concept has lost. all meaning.

Why couldn't that game be played in the Superdome in New Orleans? Colorado v Colorado State is a good example playing their annual game in Denver at Mile High Stadium. Also, playing a P5 school would do more for UL and our brand instead of playing an E. Michigan. 2 P5 schools don't have to both be Top 20 programs. There are plenty of P5 schools that we can compete with that we could schedule. For example, this year we play Florida State. Instead of E. Michigan who our fans could care less about, we could schedule an Illinois or Indiana or Rutgers or Vandy or Duke or GA Tech. We have the geography. We need to increase the value of our brand. And, some P5's do travel to G5s, look at N. Carolina playing at App State with only a 30,000 seat stadium. Our stadium seats more than Wake Forest, Vandy, Duke, Wash State, Oregon State, to name a few.

We will finish the year in the top 25 and they won’t. For the third year in a row.

If there was ever a time to pitch a neutral site game, that time is now.

The EMU game is fulfillment of a contract negotiated several years ago. Also UNC to App is part of a 2 for 1 deal from what I recall. Our AD says those are not done anymore. Still I like the idea of neutral site games in the SuperDome. Problem is we did not support the game vs Miss State well as needed in 2019. Of course our recent success was only beginning then. It may be time to try it again.

I think our fans would view the LSU game differently than Miss State and our allotment of tickets would be sold in a heartbeat, as would theirs. Easily a sell-out.

    Yep.

As long as we have that TV contract, chasing Home games is pointless.
