We had 48,000 for our first bowl game vs SDSU in the Superdome. If we played LSU there, we would have a 35,000 to 40,000 ticket allotment. Gotta believe we would buy those up, particularly if we keep winning and our fan base has confidence in our ability to compete. Of course, we need to prove that by playing more P5 schools and avoiding games vs the E. Michigan schools because they are easy to schedule. Want to see our program move forward not remain stats quo.
Here are 2 small examples of what it means my daddy’s brother who is an LSU RV tailgater at every game has purchased an RV spot for most of the cajuns NOLA bowls and gone because it was an event. Everyone at has TG would be LSU fans at a neutral site game.
My Uncle by marriage who owns a suite in the tiger stadium was at the first couple of NOLA bowls because it was a reason to go to NOLA and hang out with family. He and his family would be LSU fans at a neutral site game.
There were plenty UL / USL alum that I know personally that were there that drive to BR on Saturdays during the regular season who would be wearing purple and gold at that game also. I know this because I saw lots of them the last time we played in BR.
It means a lot of people were there from Lafayette for the novelty of it but many of those people are in Tiger Stadium on Saturday nights and their money goes there. He's not wrong. I know a LOT of those people that were in red partying it up and have maybe gone to an occasional Cajuns game, at best, since then.
