Tulane, Rice, La Tech, and UAB are scheduled for home and home series in upcoming years. Tulsa also owes us a visit. The ECU game is part of a deal from several years ago.

Two things I would like to post.

One, I fully expect our season ticket sales to be more than 11k, 15k sounds good to me.

Two, let's not get so carried away on this rcaf meet and greet function. You have to have something like this to spread excitement and you want it to be a smaller gathering to generate possible added investment in our program. There should be an additional function, similar to the casino, for ALL Cajun fans to participate in.

    IMO
We've never sold 15k tickets. Not close. You 'expect' that? What on earth leads you to believe this is even remotely possible?

The Cajuns dominated the football game in 2/3 phases. That Iowa St team had multiple NFL guys on offense. We TOTALLY shut them down.

Doesn't matter where or how that game was played, the Cajuns were the better TEAM that day.

I don't think Louisiana will ever be able to cookie cut a solution from some other school.

    Louisiana's situation is unique.

Louisiana's ceiling is higher than many P5 schools.

Indentifying unique solutions will make or break the effort.

Neither going independent or continuing to address this problem with the conclusion that Louisiana is not a commuter school will result in any resolution of the student attendance issue.

Whatever your strict definition of commuter school is, it's a non factor.

I've never heard a single Acadiana domiciled person say driving to Layayette was a non starter for any event.

The point is, however you decide to define "commuter school" Louisiana is not at a disadvantage from any other school.

Now then, no one likes a YoYo Drive so conference mandated Wednesday night games can be a road block.

According to this research, nationwide only 22% of students live on campus.

I don’t disagree with anything you just said. The cajuns were absolutely the better team that day. You put 50k people in the stands yelling at the top of their lungs vs a completely empty and quiet stadium the dynamics of that day change. It is a totally different day that day. Heck we may have had the same results. As a cajuns fan for my whole life which is 43 years history is not on our side. But hey, they choose to play in the empty stadium not us. We will take what we can get.

You may be correct. And I am sure those kids from all around Acadiana come back to Lafayette for Mardi Gras, Festival International….. The question then lies why has the University never been able to get them to support football in large numbers? Of course there are a few exceptions. Athletic support has always by and large come from the Greeks at this school, which typically are also your students who have moved from home living around campus.

Indeed UL should be in an affirmative action twords Greek life instead of discouraging it. It’s a great networking tool once college days are done. Yes including all the _____iy stuff for the pledges short of risky pranks.
