Somebody can correct me if I am wrong, but I felt scheduling used to happen quicker years ago. Assuming we stay at 8 conference games, there are 28 games in the next 7 years and we only have 14 scheduled.
2023: 4 (Northwestern State, at UAB, at Minnesota, New Mexico State)
2024: 2 (Tulane, at NMSU)
2025: 3 (Rice, at Eastern Michigan, at Missouri)
2026: 2 (UAB, at Tech)
2027: 1 (at Tulane)
2028: 1 (Tulsa)
2029: 1 (La Tech)
To put in perspective, other conference mates over the same time:
Georgia Southern: 24
App State: 17
Coastal: 17
Georgia State: 19
JMU: 9 (new to FBS)
Marshall: 16
Old Dominion: 20 (with several more in 2030-34)
Arkansas State: 16
South Al: 20
Southern Miss: 9
Texas State: 19
Troy: 20
ULM: 13
Maybe we in the silent phase of scheduling?
