New Cajun Catcher in the House

I exchanged a few words with him through PM. His background is impressive and he's playing well right now in a summer collegiate league.

On his website, the summer league coach is quoted as saying he thinks Wargo is the best collegiate catcher. A SOLID pick up!!

He's a non scholarship invitee. We have a HS catcher signed but that's it. This gives us some insurance in case Brock leaves.

I was thinking the same thing. Good defensive SSs are easy to find. Good catchers are not.

If Debarge’s goal is to make the big leagues, it’s MUCH easier to do so as a catcher.

That said, I have never seen him play the position and maybe he was an adequate HS catcher, and not someone who has a future professionally at the position
