Ncaa needs to step in. Mlb didn't let teams decide on their own to move to AL from NL, they set it up

    SMU goes to the PAC.

    AAC WEST needs a replacement

    Wichita State
    Tulsa
    North Texas
    UTSA
    Rice
    Tulane
    Memphis

It's gonna be us or USM.
Thank you! We should keep our options open, do due diligence assuming AAC might become an option.

What happens after the stadium gets completed and folks still don't attend games?

AAC is arguably still the top G5 conference and Louisiana is one of the top recruiting states. IF Tulane leaves, the AAC may want to maintain a presence here. That leaves UL and LA Tech. UL is clearly the better alternative, but would we make the move? Depends on who else might leave along with Tulane and what is left over. The remaining AAC may not be better than the SBC. Additionally, the AAC is still market driven and Lafayette likely won't meet that directive and certainly Ruston won't.

Right now I’d put a buy on the top 12 SBC football teams against the top 12 AAC, and the top 6 vs the 2023 top six.

    Completely erroneous.

They will at least for a few years because it is shines and new….keep pushing the brand and fan engagement and GameDay attendance will grow….

As for expansion below is a list of pairs we should look to invite in order:
    1: ECU and Memphis
    2: Army and Navy
    3: UAB and UTSA
    4: USF and WKU
    5: No expansion

It is perception wise if not on the field.

I’m telling you… perception is changing. I think we take a few nice bowl slots from the AAC in the coming years amongst other things.

    Taken from CSNBBS boards:

I know there was another thread about this but I thought this deserved its own thread because of the volume of information.

All of this is calculated for 2018-2023 for the 2023 members of the current G5. So UCF, Cinci, and Houston aren't counted for the AAC and Marshall, USM, and ODU's numbers don't count for CUSA.

I also added red numbers (#) indicate values for the AAC without Memphis and SMU and the MWC without Boise and SDSU.

    Five-Year Massey Composite Average (2018-2022)
(Doesn't count JMU, JSU, and SHSU for years they are not FBS)
    1. Mountain West: 77.5 (84.2)
    2. Sun Belt 77.6
    3. AAC 83.0 (87.6)
    4. MAC 89.1
    5. CUSA 94.7

(If JMU had joined sooner we'd probably be #1.)

Cumulative Weeks in the AP Poll (2018-2022)
    1. AAC 65 (34)
    ----------Memphis 12
    ----------SMU 19
    ----------UTSA 9
    ----------Navy 7
    ----------Tulsa 6
    ----------Tulane 9
    ----------South Florida 3

    2. Sun Belt 63
    ----------App State 10
    ----------Louisiana 18
    ----------James Madison 1
    ----------Coastal Carolina 24
    ----------Troy 2
    ----------Marshall 8

    3. Mountain West 57 (21)
    ----------Boise State 26
    ----------San Diego St 10
    ----------Fresno St 9
    ----------SJSU 3
    ----------Utah State 6
    ----------Air Force 3

    3. CUSA 10
    ----------Liberty 10

    5. MAC 4
    ----------Buffalo 3
    ----------Ball State 1

(Note almost half of the AAC's count is from SMU and Memphis.)

    Power 5 Wins (2018-2022)
    1. Mountain West 25 (20)
    2. AAC 15 (11)
    3. Sun Belt 14
    4. MAC 9
    5. CUSA 7

(Needs to be pointed out the AAC and MWC get a WHOLE lot more P5 home games than we do.)

    Attendance Average (2018-2022)
    (Does not count 2020.)
    1. AAC 23,899 (23303)
    2. Mountain West 22,461 (21089)
    3. Sun Belt 19,027
    4. CUSA 14,989
    5. MAC 14,685

I'm with you on that, Jerry.
