It takes two to tango, so if we want to play LaTech and they feel the same to play us in football, there's no reason for both parties not to sign a 10 year contract to keep playing regardless of conference affiliation. But in today's college football and seems like the future is scheduling out of conference games that will attractive to networks and television viewers. Not many around the country will care so much about two Louisiana based teams playing. Its not the Iron Bowl. The best bet for us gaining the most TV viewers is a Friday night TV game, maybe its a road game at a Big 12 or ACC team. Not a thrilling concept but you get paid and you get more TV viewers growing the brand. Then the 10 year contract Tech game is for Saturday nights, get the crowds.
The Big 12 said expansion candidates are evaluated based on Brand and Geography, not media markets. UL has the geography and a pretty good national brand. Our OOC scheduling focus should be against P5 schools that will enhance our brand nationally, like our win over Iowa State.
