Then I would assume Liberty would be off the table as well, as that would give you 3 schools in Virgina (ODU, JMU and Liberty) and UAB off the table with 3 schools from Alabama (but I think this would be a huge mistake not taking UAB, if they were interested), although I think there would be other reasons for Liberty not to get an invite.

Virginia is a much bigger state than Louisiana. The closest state to Louisiana is Arkansas, but they don’t have nearly as many FBS programs as Louisiana, and less talent. USM is in the sweet spot. 2 mediocre P5 and themselves.

Liberty isn’t wanted regardless of anything else except being Liberty

Well WKU does have their goat lovers, so swinging both ways should work well for them!

So using that logic, if UAB or Tulane came calling to the SBC if and when Texas State left, you think the SBC would say no?

Well both bring more to the table, they might get a mulligan. The conference seems to be avoiding private schools.

SMU is highly likely going to get an invite from a P5 conference if movement happens. UTSA, Tulane, Memphis, ECU and USF would rather stay where they are and hope for that they would be next on the list for a P5 offer. Liberty wanted the SBC before and clearly would think that the SBC would be a much better conference long term than the CUSA, the question is would the SBC want Liberty. I stick to my guns, that UAB would be the best option for the SBC, but I don't think they would do so for the same above reasons. While we would hate for it to happen, the most logical and most geographical option would be Tech, SHSU or Jacksonville State...
OK. You win. After doing a little research on attendance and program quiality, I'm willing to add UAB to my Wish List, but that is it. I would create a separate, "If we have to" list.... Rice and Tech, but I don't see whay we would have to do it. The last thing we need to do right now is add a school that has no upside just to do it.

GTFOOH with that soft ass take. How in the world did App beat aTm last year?

People seem to forget that Troy went in there and beat the mighty tigers in 17. Not 2 years later the Cajuns beat Troy by 50. I know transitive property doesn’t always work in sports but to act like it’s impossible to beat them is ridiculous. But considering who is posting that it’s not surprising

OK. Let's address the elephant in the room.

    SMU goes to the PAC.

    AAC WEST needs a replacement

    Wichita State
    Tulsa
    North Texas
    UTSA
    Rice
    Tulane
    Memphis

It's gonna be us or USM.

So you are saying the Cajuns could beat TSAB this year in TSAB stadium?

It is like the lottery someone has to win so anything is possible. I am telling you right now we can't beat them.
