    I own you

For those of you who are not aware, Blake McGehee pitched for the Cane Cutters last night. In 5.1 innings he pitched an absolute gem. 1 hit, 1 R it was earned, struck out 7, walked 3. He was not the starter in the game, he came in the 3rd inning with the Cutters down by 3 runs. It was his first outing with the Cutters.

Hope we can see more of him in a Cajun uniform.

Ben Tate has looked pretty good with the Cane Cutters as well. He has an ERA of 3.32 his last outing was 6 innings, no hits, 2 K's 4 walks vs the River Monsters back on June 24th. He has pitched in 7 games for the cutters and a total of 24.1 innings. He is 3-1 with a 3.32 ERA in 7 games, with 5 starts, 20 K's and 17 Walks. He does need to cut down on the base on balls, but the other stat lines look pretty good.

It has been rumored he’s coming here but I don’t recall seeing any type of announcement or commitment.

Presently watching the Ole Miss celebration at their stadium on the SEC Network. Don’t expect anyone leaving Ole Miss to announce until tomorrow, it’s a possible once in a lifetime experience.

Did you look at his stats from LSU-E from the year before? Maybe an indicator of what he’s capable of.

No. Would never question Mr. Walker about his knowledge of baseball. But when it contradicts what MAT says I get puzzled. Because if Mr Walker only knew half of what MAT “thinks” he knows he’d be dangerous.

He could be capable. Truth of the matter is about 1 maybe 2 kids off lsue’s roster every year really ever turn out. And we rarely if ever get those kids. It is juco ball and not of the highest level. They may be tough, hard nose etc etc…but that doesnt always mean they can play D1 baseball at a high level. Not knocking their program but it is what it is.

1 or 2 every decade ever really turn out at UL. As far a position players go, Stephan Trosclair by far was the best to come here from LSUE and have a great career. You state the truth as it's not a high level of Juco ball. Many people don't see that though. Winning games 24-4, 18-2 should shed some light on that. Just not the norm.

A Couple of names to consider when making this statement:
These are guys who in the last 10 years made significant contributions to the Cajuns either on the mound or in the field from LSU-E.

Jake Hammond Maybe our best arm out of the Pen this year
Gavin Bourgeois huge contributor and starter
Steven Sensley huge contributor and starter
Jevan Huval great arm out of the pen
Stefan Trosclair huge contributor and starter
Will Bacon great arm out of the pen
Evan Powell huge contributor and late season starter
    Cody Boutte Sunday Starter
Ben Carter Great arm out of the pen

These are 4 guys who had moments that weren't to bad from LSU-E. Austin Bradford would have been much better had he not been injured.

Sam Carriere only played 1 year, but it was a good year, transferred to UNO
Zach Lafleur one good year, one bad year with the Cajuns
Austin Bradford injuries decemated his career.
Jordan Bourque up and down player with the Cajuns

Curious to see how the Lejeune kid from LSUE does here next year. Was a Robichaux signee out of high school. Mississippi State was his biggest offer out high school. He had several other Sunbelt, CUSA, SLC type offers. Robe passed the summer before his Freshman fall. Deggs sent most of that class away after the fall.
