No doubt but I don’t think that one star on one player will make a big difference in a pre season coaches poll for an entire teams ranking as the previous poster suggested. They are going to look at o line, skilled guys around that QB and the defense when ranking a team.
Yep. Isn’t he considered the best in the league? Well we got a 3 star out of high school projected as starter. 3 should be better than 2.
We’ve all seen McCall play, the previous poster was saying star rating on the QB would make a difference in a teams ranking before that person has ever started one game.

And if I'm not mistaken, Legendre was a 4 star out of high school. He's now backing up 3 stars.
The preseason poll voters look at current roster and how your recruiting rankings stack up when they vote… so yes it does affect your preseason ranking where you start… hence why the blue bloods always seem to start in the top 25 because of how good their recruiting classes have been… it is a major factor… UL needs every advantage they can get and starting in the top 25 helps.
