Thread: Louisiana UnLimited -- Tony Robichaux

  1. People Louisiana UnLimited -- Tony Robichaux

It's ironic that a 33-year collegiate head baseball coach, one who won 1,177 games and is the winningest coach both in state history and at two different Louisiana schools, one who took a team to the College World Series, and one who had a nationally No. 1-ranked team, is remembered best for one-liners.

But Tony Robichaux's "Robeisms" weren't like other people's quips. They all had meaning, substance, something behind them that made them worthy of remembering – even as plentiful as they were.

"Work while you wait." "Let the way you live your life define who you are." "Glorify what's important." "Tough times allow you to show who you are." "The real world doesn't fix things for you." "Too many people sit down when it's time to stand up." "Nothing is good or bad, it's how you respond that makes it good or bad."

I hope everyone realizes how fortunate we are to have had TWO great MEN who just happened to be great COACHES here. Many schools can claim great coaches (looking eastward here). And none better than Coach Robe who Coach Deggs acknowledged saved him to become that great man and Coach

Prayers for the Robichaux family today. Jay are you still thinking about penning a book?

We will miss Coach Robe for a long time, but its okay because we were blessed to have him in our lives for so many years.

I missed the LA Hall of fame induction for The Man. Does anyone know how to access the best video or audio of the ceremony?
