That 41 number is what they started with in the fall. There were some who left after the fall. Of those who stayed, the four redshirts, Calloway, Shifflet, Lada and Menard are now gone.

Shifflet, for those who are unaware, had an illness that forced him to miss the second half of the season. He got his degree on Senior Day and is likely done with baseball.

And for the one who asked about Marshall, he was actually cleared by the doctors at the end of the season, but wasn't used to preserve his redshirt. He'll be good to go in the fall.

So far we have added three transfer pitchers from the portal. Not at liberty to disclose names yet.

Whoa wait a minute sir. You do know it is against RP posting policies that if you know something then you can not just say you know without spilling the beans. Mr. Walker you must share. LMFAO.

Heard a pitcher that is ironically similar to my user name has to get/had TJ. 18 months puts him out for next season…

Surgery was done yesterday and was a success. Now the long rehab begins.

TJ isn’t 9-12 months anymore. It’s realistically 12-18. He isn’t pitching next year.

Depends on if it was TJ or UCL repair. The latter is a fairly significant decrease in recovery time. However, if it was TJ, there’s not much difference in the argument of 9-12 months or 12-18 months really. He won’t pitch next year. What has been found is that recovery is very structured and somewhat predictable, but although pitchers do come back in 12 months, they typically don’t return to form until the 2nd year. Verlander is the most recent example. He technically could have pitched at the end of last season, but holding off until the beginning of this season has allowed him to jump back in with the ability of returning to form quicker

Makes sense, former Astros 1st Round Forrest Whitley injured his arm during the 2019 season and began his throw his throwing progressions during spring training and pitched his first 2 innings this week in his rehab assignment.

Correct about Verlander. He has come back this season and is performing at a high level even at his age and should be on the All Star team.
