    A. Why dont they continue to calculate rpi throughout the postseason

    A. I would presume since the RPI is a tool used by the NCAA to assist w/ determining school’s NCAA Tournament / Regional merit, it’s not necessary once the tournament / regional begins.

    B. As conf tournaments (aside from maybe basketball) do not require as much (i.e. multi-year) planning, determining sites at the annual conf meetings for the following year makes sense, as school AD/presidents will have a better idea of budget, program interest and (most importantly) how good their team might be, it makes sense to determine the year prior.

    A. They do. The final rankings will be posted now that the season is completed. It's likely to be today or Monday.

    B. CajunSID gave the correct answer to that question.

Thank you for answering! see it is possible!

great point about the conf tourny, granted id prefer more advance notice and some sort of rotation protocol, but that is a very good answer and makes sense.

why not always let the defending champs host (if they can/ want to)

It would always be at UL or James Madison.

Other schools would like to showcase there facilities, save on their travel budget and make some money.

You're giving James Madison too much credit.

This upcoming season will be a big sign of what is to come. They struggled last year with the last of the Dean recruits.

We talked about this after their World Series season. This was the season without Dean's recruits. And look what happened. Laporte does not have the same pipeline Dean had. She has had 10 years at James Madison to develop relationships to bring in her recruits, 5 years as the head coach. I have no confidence that she will be able to continue the tradition Mickey Dean set up.
