Louisiana Softball head coach Gerry Glasco, who directed the program to a three-peat as Sun Belt Conference champions and an appearance on Championship Sunday of an NCAA Regional in spring 2022, is spending the summer months continuing to grow the game of softball at the professional level.

From mid-June to early-August, Glasco is serving as head coach of the Smash It Sports Vipers in the newly organized Women's Professional Fastpitch (WPF) league. The goal of the league, which also includes the USSSA Pride, is to showcase the best athletes in softball, provide a world-class experience for fans, and connect young girls to their idols.

"I am excited to be part of the new WPF and to join the Smash It Sports Vipers and Don DeDonatis in an effort to help provide a place for athletes to continue their softball careers through professional softball", remarked Glasco.

Glasco is being joined by three of his former Ragin' Cajuns standouts in Alissa Dalton (2018-21), Ciara Bryan (2021) and Melissa Mayeux (2020-22) - each of the last three Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year award recipients.
