Citizens in Lafayette can expect their regular garbage and recycling collection if their regular collection day is Friday. The entire week following Easter, citizens in the cities of Lafayette and Carencro, and those in unincorporated Lafayette Parish will have excess garbage from holiday celebrations collected if it is bagged and outside of the automated garbage cart. The garbage must be in bags, which cannot exceed 35 pounds. The city-parish government compost facility will be closed on Good Friday, but will be open from 7 a.m. until noon on Saturday.
