After a quick look at our roster, he’s no longer on the team. Guessing he was one of the problems with the locker room? I wonder what all those guys (from 40ish down to 29) are thinking watching this group of grinders show everyone what college baseball should look like.

I hope they are thinking that commitment to something greater than yourself will provide you the greatest gifts in the long term, although may seem to be a sacrifice in the short term.

Is Drew Shifflet hurt? I’m guessing so, he hasn’t pitched since March 29th after being the opening day starter

Also, Ray only threw 17 pitches last night. I’m guessing he could give them a little bit today

I hope so. The only reason I have any hesitation is due to his shoulder issues from earlier in the season. I hope he feels good and can throw.

Looking at our pitch count vs theirs. We are forever behind our opponents total per inning and espescially per pitch. Is it our pitchers being too cautious, or our hitters not patient enough?

We are aggressive at the plate compared to most.

I think that’s a big reason. I also think that every UL pitcher is a natural reliever. They don’t have a pitch to contact mentality so they are trying to strike out every hitter they face. And that runs up pitch counts.

Someone who follows recruiting, please tell me we have pitching coming in next year.

Look for transfers and JUCO guys to be calling for a chance to get on this roster.

I think the fall will be a dogfight to make this roster. We signed 11 kids early, 7 seniors, had a few already depart, plus the draft, and i would expect a few transfer out. Gonna be interesting
