Same here. Happy tears but also shedding a few sad tears. Just heard my friend from Colorado that I’ve been hunting with since 1994 passed last night. Happy or sad tears they’re all wet.

Couldn’t even listen. Followed the play-by-play. And even that I would only peek at the box score from time to time.

Love this for our players, and especially for Coach Deggs.

He took a lot of crap from some fans this season, and now he has us in the post season for the first time since we hosted the Regional in 2016.

Today’s game was Matt Deggs baseball in a nutshell. A non lead runner thrown out on a fly ball with nowhere to advance. A guy comes up with bases loaded and a rattled pitcher and swings away at balls. Left a pitcher in past when most would’ve yanked him because they believe in their guys.

And then…green lights a guy with 3 bad at bats in the game in a 3-0 count who gets a runner to third on an error that probably should’ve been a double play. Hit and run when it’s probably ballgame if the hitter whiffs and the runner is gunned down. Double steal in a do or die situation.

Sorry if any of that came off as negative. Didn’t mean it to be. I think someone earlier made a good point that Matt Deggs and Co. truly believe in their methods and aren’t scared to roll the dice with everything on the line…even when the by the bookers are gnashing our teeth and screaming what the hell is he doing (yes me included). Kept the pressure on for 9 innings and forced a really good team in to some critical mistakes. Congratulations Matt Deggs and Co. GEAUX CAJUNS!

Matt and Co. operate like riverboat gamblers. Ace up the sleeve and guns loaded.

    Scared money don't make money.

They put pressure on the opponent when the biggest pressure of the game (and conference tourney championship) was already on them.

    And it paid off.

Obviously there are many people here who don’t like the methods (and I admit that there are times when it’s incredibly frustrating when things don’t go right), but we all have to admit that it is effective…while being very non-traditional.

Hopefully the fan base embraces it because as long as Coach Deggs is here, that’s the way it will be. And it definitely gives the program an identity. He took a lot of heat for his “this is a regional team” comment prior to the season, but in the end, he was right.

Hopefully going forward he (and more so, the players) will get the benefit of the doubt and folks will let in-game and in-season things play out before all of the criticism comes.

As crazy as it may seem sometimes, there is a method to the madness.

I’m SO glad this team won today. I have no idea what will happen in the next week or 3, but personally, I wasn’t ready for this season to end. I thoroughly enjoy watching this team play. And this group of kids deserve a TON of credit for what they’ve accomplished…and so does the coaching staff.
