One thing I’ve learned about Schultz is that he gives up runs early and then he settles in. Once he settles in he’s almost unhittable. He’s one of the grittiest pitchers we’ve ever had and that’s saying a lot.

I said that it was almost a blessing that we got thrown out at home, getting him back out quickly after the 8th inning was probably the best thing that could have happened, letting his arm rest would have probably been a bad thing at the end of that game.

Schultz pitched an amazing game! One thing of note, if tomorrow goes well for the good guys, it would be beneficial to be in a regional that starts on Saturday. After that many pitches it would give Schultz an extra days rest going into his next start.
