I think we could have done better but the weather in Birmingham wasn't as bad as it was in Montgomery. We ended up with an 1" more of rain than they did and more importantly it was raining for a longer period at Montgomery.

Like one poster said, I am less bothered with the move to single elimination than I am with the seemingly constant ineptitude by our conference. Playing a baseball tournament on a grass field in May, was there no contingency plan in place for rain? They can’t act like they were blindsided by this scenario. It is just frustrating to watch the Sun Belt continuously bungle these types of situations

Sounds like the timing of the “ coaches meeting” was a little late to start these conversations of making alternative plans

We got this. Zeebart told me so this morning. He felt it deep down inside.

We will be the champs at the end of Sunday.

Baseball is simply not a sport meant to be of the single elimination variety. Reason is that on any given day the “game” can be more of a factor than your opponent in your defeat. You could hit 10 line drive outs in any contest. A gust of sudden wind can knock a ball out of the park or keep one in the park. This is not the judge the decision made one way or the other.

For those who think the agreed to format helps us, just keep in mind that we could lose today to the “game” more than South Alabama.

If we lose, we lose. Same for the other teams, and we have as good a chance as any of them in single elimination.
