The Ragin' Cajuns will send 11 athletes to NCAA East Preliminary next week

Sophie Daigle and Yves Cherubin both paced their conference competitors in the 10k and 110m hurdles, respectively at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships last weekend at the Home Bank Ragin' Cajuns Soccer and Track Facility.

Louisiana men's (86.5 points) and women's (72 points) squads each placed fifth in the final team standings.

Daigle posted a time of 36:37.99 in the distance race, separating from the competition in the final lap. The graduate capped off her weekend with a second-place finish in the 5k.

Cherubin raced to the line in 13.71 narrowly edging out Coastal Carolina's Tyler Graves who finished in 13.79.

Caemon Scott notched a second-place result in the 400m with a personal-best time of 46.38.

Chandler Mixon took home silver in the Decathlon as the senior totaled 7,055 points, while Marin Barras claimed second in the javelin with a mark of 46.64m.

Rylan Theyard (15.31m) and Taylor Davis (12.34m) finished third in the triple jump.
