Thread: BB G3: Louisiana 9, TX St 11

    Bats are not the problem.

5 runs Friday, and 4 runs yesterday, would have won hundreds of games for Robichaux.

Bad bad. Gotta win the tournament.

18 hits and can’t win the ballgame.

Impressive comeback down 7, just didn’t have enough.

The better team won the series

5, 4, and 9 runs for Louisiana has been enough to produce many a favorable weekend sweep through the years.

    Just not this weekend.

    Agreed.
But how many runners have we left in scoring position not getting the bat on the ball and how many batters have we hit with two strikes on them ?

We have a patch work pitching staff, no doubt. However, we are ranked 30th nationally in ERA and 42nd in WHIP. The pitching doesn't get enough credit, imo.

We are 70th in fielding percentage.

We have obviously improved the offense production greatly since March.

While it "feels like" we are killing the ball, stats disagree.

We are still in the middle 1/3 of teams in most offensive categories.

We are 239th, 12th of 12 in the Sun Belt in walks. We are 284th in on base %, out of 293 teams. We still don't get on base enough. We are 185th in doubles.

Our offense has improved, but we had nowhere to go but up. As a team, we still very average. jmo.
