No. The Cajuns' RPI went up after the win tonight .. as I said it would last night (and provided the precise numbers). What you saw was the South Alabama loss to Tulane being tabulated that knocked them down to .5562 and #55 (after the Cajun win over Rice was registered).
The Cajuns' RPI ranking will be good enough with a strong finish in the regular season and the conference tournament. 9-3 (no small feat) would give them an excellent chance (good enough RPI), provided the wins come against the right teams. This is because the most important thing for the Cajuns is to log at minimum three (hopefully more) Tier 1 wins and finish with an overall better conference record than Coastal Carolina (all conference games included). The Cajuns' RPI will be in consideration range with such a finish ... the most concerning thing is having only gone 4-7 vs. Tier 1 at this juncture.
The weekend series in San Marcos is the biggest series of the year. They need to find a way to win it.
