Cajuns win
Since the app state series, almost all our games and every one of them to come other than Nicholls and Texas State are murdering our RPI.
We’re down to 55 now after winning 4 straight. I mean truly killing us.
We simply can’t lose any of these games cause it tanks us even more and it backs us into a corner where we kind of have to win out or go on a crazy run to not be forced to win the conference tournament to make the field this year.
Only way we’re making an at large is we finish 7-1 or 8-0 and that’s with the loss coming to Texas state.
No. The Cajuns' RPI went up after the win tonight .. as I said it would last night (and provided the precise numbers). What you saw was the South Alabama loss to Tulane being tabulated that knocked them down to .5562 and #55 (after the Cajun win over Rice was registered).
The Cajuns' RPI ranking will be good enough with a strong finish in the regular season and the conference tournament. 9-3 (no small feat) would give them an excellent chance (good enough RPI), provided the wins come against the right teams. This is because the most important thing for the Cajuns is to log at minimum three (hopefully more) Tier 1 wins and finish with an overall better conference record than Coastal Carolina (all conference games included). The Cajuns' RPI will be in consideration range with such a finish ... the most concerning thing is having only gone 4-7 vs. Tier 1 at this juncture.
The weekend series in San Marcos is the biggest series of the year. They need to find a way to win it.

Additionally, if the Cajuns were going to drop any of their remaining games, you would want them to drop the game vs. Rice tomorrow night. It would impact the Cajuns more negatively by losing to Texas State (Tier 1), Nicholls (RPI), or Little Rock (RPI) than losing to Rice.
