We are not hosting. Probably going to a 14,15 or 16 seed regional.

Sure their is a difference.

The only difference between an "2" and "3" seed is one team is home and one team is the away team.

Unless things have changed the ncaa only list the #1 seed. It is easy to know who the 4 seed is because they play each other first round. Then the 2 and 3 seed plays each other.

Once you are in a regional you are correct. Just win.

However, there can be a sizable or not so sizeable difference.

The gap could be as much as a 17 vs 47 overall seed.

It could also be a 32 vs 33 matchup

This is just wrong. There are 16 2’s and 16 3’s. If you go in as a 2, competition in the regional should be less than if you go in as a 3. While that difference diminishes as the weaker 2’s may be grouped with the stronger 3’s, theoretically that is not how it should end.
