Support OT: Softball funding in general

This NIL deal tells me that they are getting serious about softball. They will soon pass by schools unable or unwilling to invest more money in softball. Look for the Hogs to be a contender in the SEC as often as Alabama, LSU and Florida are.
Can someone (i.e.p5) Truly say they spent more on college softball if they spent zero for 20 or 30 years while others were spending? (albeit less, at least something)? I realize most fans and players are of the what have you done for me lately mindset. And also if they kicked off with such a bang in the late 90’s is the narrative that they are still increasing the expenditures true? Or has there been a drop off, and if not, is a drop off coming.
Would like to see the numbers crunched. And what happens now as those “brand new stadiums” zoom past 25 years old and start approaching 30?

What we and others spent 30 years ago is irrelevant to what is happening now. Ask Louisiana Tech WBB.

Right now we are still part of the softball big girl club, and to a lesser extent the baseball big boy club; but if more rich programs start pumping more money into softball and baseball we will have to keep up or fall behind.

In general, I think we are fine. I really like what Arkansas is doing for softball, and there is no reason we can't try to to something similar. We have several car dealerships or dealership chains in Acadiana that have heavy female input at the highest levels [Valerie and Michelle Hargroder with Courtesy Automotive Group, Sharon Moss with Moss Motors, and I think Jackie Edgar still has a dealership]. No reason that they should not be approached about doing something for UL softball athletes in exchange for ad appearances. Too bad Stuller Settings doesn't do local advertising; they would be a great NIL sponsor for any female athlete or team.
