It would be difficult to not include Donne Wall on any of these “staffs”
12-5 with a 1.76 ERA with the Cajuns in 1989. Completed 10 of his 18 starts. Struck out 133 batters in 122.2 innings and compiled a 1.02 WHIP. And amazingly allowed ZERO home runs.
And then went on to have an 8 year MLB career throwing 474 innings and pitching to an ERA of 4.20 in an era when the offensive numbers across the league were sky high.
Interestingly, after Wall was picked up off of waivers by the Cincinnati Reds from the Houston Astros in 1997, he was traded to the Detroit Tigers. However, that is not the interesting part. The interesting part is he was traded to Detroit Tigers with former Cajun Paul Bako for Melvin Nieves. It may be the first, and only time two Cajuns were in the same trade.
