D1 Regional projection

What has impressed me and others of late, is our road record. We are 7-2 on the road since end of March. Good teams win on the road.

This may become the road to an At Large bid.

We need to win 12 of the last 15 to get in. But what we really need to be focusing on is winning the regular season championship. If we do that the rest will take care of itself. These “projections” are based on us winning the rest of the way. I dont think 10 wins does it bc the RPI value of the remaining games are not great. If we finish 1st in conference, we get in based on the rest of our resume…SOS, conference RPI, etc etc

We take at least one against Texas State and beat Nicholls in Lafayette.

I also think we go 2/2 against Rice.

That puts us as 35-19 without the conference tournament.

Getting swept at Texas State would be a death knell.

If the rest of that holds up, and the Cajuns win one (preferably two) at Texas State, I think they would have a strong case for an at large bid. Assuming a couple wins in the SBC tourney

One game at a time, beat App tonight, deal with tomorrow tomorrow. But win tonight. If we do our jobs everything else will fall into place.
