"I saw the Cajuns earlier this season and it's safe to say they were unimpressive. Well, the Cajuns, who have plenty of talent and upside, are playing more like the team I thought they'd be coming into the season. UL has won five straight conference series (including a series win over Georgia Southern) and has an RPI of 42, including 13 wins over RPI top 100 teams. The Cajuns are trending upward at the right time."

They don't even have to do that. They just have to have the right NIL deals for players in non-headcount sports. See Arkansas in the softball program.
