Now, that is going to look wayyyy out of sorts for most of you. But not every fan base is like ours and not every administration is like ours.

Let me speak specifically about baseball.
App State doesn't do radio. And, as you can see, they don't do much tv either. Georgia State doesn't do radio and this is the first year they've done any baseball streaming for ESPN+. UTA doesn't do radio. Little Rock doesn't, either. And, none of the schools mentioned stream all of their games. The only two schools that had all of their home games streamed on ESPN+ were Coastal and Georgia Southern.

Baseball just isn't the priority around the league like it is here. I think it sucks as a baseball guy. But for them, the juice isn't worth the squeeze in that they have no fan base to speak of and therefore believe it isn't worth the cost.

Hope this answered the contract question.

And, while I'm sure you guys feel better about contacting the AD at App, I'm not sure spending the money to appease Cajun fans is on his agenda.
Sounds like we need to be in a better baseball conference where our school's commitment is at least the league average. Our commitment appears well above Sun Belt average.

Maybe if the administrations in this league would provide these things to their base, they would have more fans? Chicken or the egg

I wonder if incoming SBC members will help up the anti in this regard.

By himself Robichaux showed changes can be made to Sunbelt baseball.

    Agree.

Someone answer this. The AD at App is obviously all about reaching quotas that the conference sets according to the expert on here. On Tuesday May 3rd 2 days after the Cajuns have departed he will be streaming a home game against East Tennessee State U. Why wouldn't he do any one of the conference weekend games instead of that one? Makes no sense to me.

The conference needs to step in and make new quotas that are not about the number of games but number of conference games to be streamed for those who do not care about baseball. Non conference games streamed in Boone 2 vs UNCW, 1 vs High Point Univ, 1 vs ETSU 1 vs Wake Forest all these games that should be replaced by conference games, if you chose to do the very least possible to get by. Why should the Sunbelt, who makes the rules, want to promote those other leagues with the few opportunities they get from App?

Yep. I am sure we won’t change the AD at Apps mind but if he doesn’t realize how much of a failure he is at his job and feel like a complete moron, I guess he will never see the light. If he hasn’t thought to himself “maybe I should be the AD for the whole department and not just the football team” then he doesn’t deserve the title of athletics director. Just call him director of football.

Let me take a guess on that. Just a guess, mind you.

Maybe he does more mid weeks because it's easier for parents to see their kids play on the weekends.

    Just a thought.....

If that is what he is basing his streaming decision on? A handful of parents? App should fire that small minded thinker today. Unless they like being a one sport athletic program. If you are correct then he is worst than I ever imagined.

UNCW was a non conference weekend series so that might squash that argument.

I said it was a guess. It was not an argument. And, honestly, it's nobody's business.

Or perhaps those are “local” games that draw more interest from his client base.

And that is why the league should step in to promote the league and not these lesser conference mid weeks and pre conference series. Except for Wake of course in that case you have a greater conference visiting on a week night. Maybe East Tennesse State draws more interest on Tuesday than a top tier sun belt team coming in on a weekend for them? It would be equivalent to Stephen F Austin coming here and gaining more interest than Coastal Carolina, So Al, Tx State, or Ga So. I don't get that argument.

I went to a baseball series at App State a few years ago. It's a very nice little stadium in a BEAUTIFUL setting, but there were probably more dogs than people at the park (not that there is anything wrong with that) and NOBODY around Boone even knew there were baseball games being played there that weekend. They just don't care.
