To say your asset wouldn't have been there so you had to continue to trade pieces to get the one piece is not good business sense. To me it reflects paranoia mixed with a bit much of ego & maybe some cocaine, or too much Jack Daniels, which says everyone thinks like you think, or wants what you want, when in reality they don't. And that's why the Saints always over pay.

As I said before. If you are a chess player & trade your queen, a rook, two bishops & a knight for the other player's queen. You aren't going to win many chess matches.

I guess the 138th ranked player they got with the 49th pick was a steal & not a reach as well. They could have taken Butler with that pick & been better off at safety. At least they would have gotten a home grown product with that pick & a guy who actually fit the position of need & not reached a bit further. Instead, by reason of what they did, they basically gave Butler & a couple of other players to Washington as well as giving future players to Philly. The bottom line is the Saints did a p!$$ poor job of drafting. It's not the first time & it won't be the last. Thank goodness they at least got one of the top four tackles without blowing it.

By the way, does Micky Loomis know there are other college eligible schools to draft from besides Ohio State? In the mean time, instead of taking Kyle Hamilton who was the consensus alpha male big mac daddy behemoth at safety & supposedly one of the top three players in this draft regardless of position. They decided to pay 33 million for a washed up safety for three years. So much for saving money & grabbing the best player available crapola. In the words of Jim Mora. All that talk don't mean didley pooh.

In the mean time, I'd like to know what the Saints are going to use for a running back while Kamara's busting rocks in Nevada this fall. Because by falling in love with "that guy," the Saints failed to address another important offensive issue with any of the really talented running backs in this draft of which they could have just about had their pick of the litter.
Current roster has Mark Ingram who has filled in pretty well in short stints and Tony Jones Jr who they like allot. I think they feel as though they will roll with that or potentially wait to see who is released before the start of the season from other teams.

Mike Detilller said yesterday in a interview that he heres the Saints will sign one more big free agent. He did not identify the player, but my guess is it's either Sonny Michel RB, or Jarvis Landry WR. Sonny Michel would make more sense at this point.

Both/Either makes sense, but after drafting Olave in the first round and with the hope that MT comes back fully healthy and one of the best possession receivers in the league and the continued improvement of Marquez Calloway and servicable Trequan Smith and Deonte Harris on the roster, that is not a position of need. RB improvement would be and Sony Michel has been very good for a long time in this league. Michel rushed for almost 900 yards last year in 3 of his 4 years in the league he has rushed for over 800 yards, the only year he didn't was in 2020 when he was injured for 7 games and still rushed for over 400 yards. Michel would be an interesting addition to this team and a much better option than drafting a RB. The only issue is when you get Kamara back you could be looking at figuring out a rotation and who you would release to make room for him. I would assume that based on preseason and practices you probably would not carry Kamara, Michel and Ingram on this team.

would also like to see the saints grab a veteran TE like Eric Ebron

They still have the cap space to carry all three, but it's not a decision that would have to make until the final roster cut in September. Also Kamara is facing suspension, likely 6 games based upon precedent. The problem takes care of itself until he returns.

That is why I said when Kamara comes back a decision would need to be made, I doubt you carry all three veteran RB's.

Right? He was the 3rd ranked free agent safety, behind Williams who we let go and Bates from Cincinnati, May was ranked 4th...I think we made our pretty good there.

It should be NIL or scholarship, not both.

Not sure what you are referring to but he is 29 years old and was the 3rd best available safety...technically 2nd ranked if you remove Williams...he isn’t washed up. He was first team all
Pro 2 of the last 3 years.
