Sorry guys, it’s been a while since I have posted. I think most of you are a little unfair with your assessments of this team. This team has beat many quality opponents and has really only looked bad in two weekends. Do we have boneheaded spurts? Sure but that’s baseball. Outside of the Troy and Round Rock weekends, this team has been ultra competitive. We should have beaten Southern Miss. we did beat UCI, South Al, houston, Georgia Southern all of which were very quality weekend series wins… please take a step back from the ledge and let the boys play this thing out without all the negative energy

We have no excuse for not making regionals half the time. We are headed for the 5th missed post season in a row, unless we get busy.
THANK YOU. They are a peer program and you can’t make excuses when you compare what they’ve done. They’ve also maintained this level of success through 3 different head coaches.

I think this is very doable. I hope that doesn't sound like a complaint. I am stating the obvious for many and believe we will get there.

    Brian,

How bad will App State hurt us next weekend?

We'll drop 5 spots if we sweep App and UTA, but if we win the series vs TX State we'll be in the 30's

That is some pretty impressive math.

    Gross. Zero margin for error.

On the plus side, dare I say we are peaking at the right time?

Two CG’s (one abbreviated) with a combined 4 runs given up and what, 4 walks in three games? Tony is smiling for sure.

This weekend was the first time we looked like a regional team

The Cajuns' RPI sits at .5706, currently ranked #44.

Winning 2/3 at App State would yield a modest RPI decline to .5669 at the present time (holding everything else constant). Of course, as records change this week, there will be movement in the Cajuns' RPI, even though they do not play until Friday. An RPI of .5669 would currently be good for a ranking of #48.

Winning 3/3 at App State (not expecting this) would presently result in an RPI increase to .5729, good for a ranking of #40.

But remember, the Cajuns' RPI also depends on how their opponents perform and somewhat how their opponent's opponents perform. Meanwhile, ranking also depends on how the teams ranked around them perform.

Sweeping App State will provide us a decent bump. Sweeping UTA will still be damaging. Sweeping both would yield a modest drop in RPI from .5706 to .5677, which would presently be good for #47 in the RPI rankings (dropping three spots).
