Have to agree with this. We have certainly come a long way in some aspects of our athletic department, but we have plenty of work to do in others. Just look at our debacle with concessions for all sports, communication, local awareness, lack of selection and availability in the team bookstore, etc. Hard truth to face
This is such a narrow minded thing to say. So many of the fans that pack the park are families with school aged kids, which is what you need to sustain and grow a fanbase; not the retired ages that can can make every game.
Weekday games? I have to wake my kids up at 6:15 for school the next morning, and they aren’t old enough to be left at home alone for three to five hours at a time. Our youngest had surgery the Friday of the Southern Miss series and couldn’t walk up or down stairs for two weeks. I certainly wasn’t going to force him into Russo Park because a true Cajun fan should make it to the games if they live close enough.
Things come up, and it’s not unreasonable to think that a first class program should broadcast their home games. And this is such a weird stance to take from the guy whose job is to give the play by plays for people who aren’t actually at the game.
