Are they in the portal. If not is it due to the season still going on or are they done planning softball.

Do players put themselves in the portal, or do they have to submit info to someone in the administration and they do it? i.e. no govt job is likely ever 24 hours, so is there ever a delay in “getting in to the portal”??

Somewhat of a delay depending on when entering. The player expresses a desire to enter the portal and the administration helps with the process. Are you asking if any particular player is in the portal yet?

I was not. Thanks! Makes sense, so sometimes people get in faster than others. deciding on a monday morning would likely be faster entry than on a friday night for example?

So if I was the player for example, and I qualified for the redshirt, do I get it automatically, or does the coach have to give it to me. And would there ever be a circumstance that they could choose not to. Lets say 11 qualify, would NCAA limit the coach to ten redshirts in one year (or some # for example) Or if a coach knows I am transferring could they hold back my redshirt approval?

Short answer if you haven't played a lick then you are considered a redshirt player period. If they choose not to redshirt you then that means you actually played. I am not sure if there is a limit? Maybe Cajunsoftball22 would know that answer?
