This win (among some others by Cajun opponents) certainly helped the Cajuns.

Immediately prior to the conclusion of the Cajuns' game vs. ASU, their RPI was .5682 (same as it was at the start of the game ... and a ranking of 43). After the result was tabulated, the Cajuns' RPI fell to .5669. But performance by Cajun opponents' performance since has their RPI back up to .5681 (slightly lower than they started the day and a ranking of 40).

A win by UC-Irvine over UC San Diego will also help. UCI leads 9-6, batting in the T7th.
