I’m still trying to find an article about last night UL vs Marshall game on the advertiser website today. It’s all LSPoooo. Ridiculous. Sad I even went to their site.

Why bother, just boycott them because they offer you nothing of interest.

The problem isn't the Advertiser. And, it certainly isn't Cory Diaz.

It's corporate media. In this case, Gannett.

Gannett cares about clicks on social media directing people to their on line edition. They don't care where they come from as long as the number is large.

Gannett tells Cory what to cover. I think he personally would love to give more coverage to the Cajuns, but the other guys (and Mulkey) get more clicks.

(Personally I think Cory is an excellent writer. This isn't his fault.)
To your point, this weekend I posted on faceplant some thoughts on TV-3.

Growing up in Lafayette, I ALWAYS thought Channel 10 would be the big dog in our market. Low and behold, Channel 3 passed them up and now they are the standard bearer.

I have always thought they did this with the weather and a total commitment to UL sports.

Well the last few years, the UL coverage has slowly eroded to a point you'd think LSU was the hometown team.

And I pointed all of this out.

Somebody pointed out to me this is exactly what has happened at Channel 3...corporate interests (Scripps) are dictating programming and that programming is starting to reek of purple, yellow, and refined petroleum products.

Channel 10 has a show devoted to Cajun sports at 10:30 on Sunday evenings.

I’ve seen peer programs with their coaches’ shows on Fox, etc. Athletic Communications, make it happen.
